Social events at Cochrane Colloquia serve as an important opportunity for Cochrane's global community to meet once a year in relaxed circumstances and re-establish friendhsips and collaborations. They provide an opportunity to re-affirm the collaborative nature of this global enterprise, where the members of the Cochrane community can un-wind in the presence of trusted friends and colleagues; share their experiences; rejoice in each others' successes; and help others with their challenges. These events also serve as an opportunity to meet and welcome newcomers to Cochrane, and forge new collaborative partnerships. The multifaceted nature and talents of Cochrane's contributors often emerge that swiftly cut accross professional and national boundries, and add spice and fun to these events. And above all, they offer all of us an opportunity to celebrate the existence and success of this unique Collaboration.
In September 2014, we offer all registered participants to the Colloquium, complimentary tickets to a taste of traditional Indian hospitality, and the local culture through:
- The Welcome Reception
- The Iconic Hyderbad Tour on the free afternoon, and
- The Bollywood Night Farewell Gala Dinner, where we will celebrate Cochrane's 21sr Anniversary
We invite all registered participants and their accompanying persons to sign up for the Cochrane Bollwood Dance-Off, where those who attend the practice sessions and qualify for place in the finals have an opportunity to show-off their Bollwood costumes and routine and win exciting prizes at the Bollywood Night Farewell Gala Dinner.
We also offer an optional social event where participants and their accompanying persons may purchase tickets during registration for:
- The Sufi Night and Dinner at the Chowmahalla Palace, after the Iconic Hyderabad Tour on the free afternoon
In additional to the free tour for registered participants (and accompanying persons who purcahse a ticket), we also offer optional tours that can be booked seperately. These are custom tours that operate at multiple times before and during Colloquium days, to primarily enable accompanying persons, an opportunity for more leisurely tours of interesting sights and experiences of Hyderbad. We offer some of these tours in the evenings to enable Colloquium participants an opportunity to avail of them as well.
